Melanee Blankstein

Melanee Blankstein brings to Young Singers many years of marketing, managerial and training skills from working national and international retail chains. She began as a volunteer with Young Singers in 2007 when her sons sang in the choir, before joining the organization full time in 2008.  After the loss of her mother, Mary Murray, Mrs. Blankstein and her family wanted to honor Mary’s memory with a donation to assist families in need of financial assistance to participate in Young Singers. The Mary Murray Scholarship Fund was formed, and since 2014 the Mary Murray Scholarship 5K Walk/Run has provided over $200,000 in scholarships to YSPB.  

 

Mrs. Blankstein is a graduate of Louisiana State University in Shreveport. While raising her three boys she was a substitute teacher and has dedicated many hours to volunteering in local schools and the community.  She has been a PTA President, SAC Chairperson, and has chaired numerous fundraising events for schools and community organizations. Mrs. Blankstein was honored by the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce with a “Doing Good In The Neighborhood” Award. She is a past member of the Delray Beach Education Board and the Board of Governors at the Delray Beach Playhouse.
