Melanee Blankstein

Melanee Blankstein brings to Young Singers a wealth of experience in marketing, management, and training, gained from her work with national and international retail chains. Her journey with Young Singers began in 2007 when her sons joined the choir, and she became a full-time member of the team in 2008.

 

In 2014, after the loss of her mother, Mary Murray, Melanee and her family created the Mary Murray Scholarship Fund in her mother’s memory. This initiative was designed to support families in need of financial assistance for their children to participate in Young Singers programs. The annual Mary Murray Scholarship 5K Walk/Run has since raised over $200,000, providing scholarships to many young singers in need.

 

A graduate of Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Melanee has always been deeply committed to education and community service. While raising her three sons, she worked as a substitute teacher and dedicated countless hours to volunteering in local schools and community organizations. She has served as PTA President, SAC Chairperson, and has chaired numerous fundraising events for schools and local causes.

 

Melanee’s dedication to her community was recognized by the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce with their “Doing Good in the Neighborhood” award. She has also served as a past member of the Delray Beach Education Board and the Board of Governors at the Delray Beach Playhouse.

 

Above all, Melanee is a proud mother to three boys and a devoted grandmother to two extra-special grandbabies.
