Da Capo (Grades 2-3)

This choir is for our youngest members and is an interactive introduction to choral singing. Children learn proper breathing techniques, posture, and basic music reading through musical activities. This group performs on the mainstage of the Kravis Center twice a year. 
 

Singers will remain with us for the entire hour during their scheduled audition time. The audition will consist of a mock group rehearsal as well as meeting with a director.  At this time the singer will be asked to perform the requirements listed below.  

Parents are required to attend an informational meeting about Young Singers while their child is auditioning.  This allows us to share the commitment necessary to participate in our choir.  This will also allow all questions to be answered. 

Audition requirements (no solo is required)

• Director will check singer’s vocal range and quality.

• Singer will participate in a pitch matching exercise.

• Singer will perform Happy Birthday with accompaniment below.
