She currently serves as the K-8 general music and chorus teacher in the prestigious and award winning Fine Arts program at American Heritage Schools Boca/Delray. She previously served as the Director of Performing Arts and Private Lesson Coordinator
teaching Pre-K 2-Grade 8 at St. Joseph’s Episcopal School in Boynton Beach. A graduate of A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts and Florida Atlantic University’s music program, Ms. Carter recently graduated with her Masters in Choral Music Education from Mississippi State University (June 2022). She currently holds her professional teaching certificate in both Elementary and Music Education, and is certified in the Orff-Schulwerk approach.

Ms. Carter is a member of Florida Music Educators Association, National Association for Music Education, American Choral Directors Association, and the American Orff-Schulwerk Association. In the summer of 2018, she was invited to continue her studies abroad as a participant in the Choral Institute at Oxford conducting intensive studies with Westminster Choir College. She conducted the Grammy-nominated Williamson Voices under the direction of Dr. James Jordan. Her biggest honor as a music educator was her selection to be the Orff-Schulwerk
conductor for the 2022 Spotlight on Young Musicians Elementary honor choir held at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. Her students have frequently been selected to participate in the All-State and ACDA honor choirs around the country, and her choir was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in 2018.

In addition to her experience in the classroom, Ms. Carter enjoys performing on stage and in the church setting. Her experience spans a variety of styles including classical, musical theatre, opera, jazz and folk. Her voice has been featured on Live Hymnal: Procession and Live Hymnal: Prelude albums, a liturgical offering of St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church in Boynton Beach. She is in her 14th year as a professional singer of Delray Beach’s St. Paul’s Chancel Choir and Schola Cantorum and was invited to perform a solo recital as part of the Music at St. Paul’s concert series in 2019.

In her spare time, Ms. Carter enjoys playing tennis and of course spending time with her two young children: Audrey and Hastings.
